The Every Thread Handwoven studio is a space created with the intention and vision for an on-going weaving and creative practice whether you are an absolute beginner or a seasoned weaver or anywhere in between.

Set up as a community weaving studio all tools and looms are provided while having a place to share with others in creative practice through the medium of textile art, craft, design, storytelling and beyond.

Students work alongside each other, but at their own pace, with guidance as well as encouragement and support to become independent and to nurture the confidence to bring their own creative ideas into form. Sometimes I will be learning right alongside you as you bring new *to me* ideas into the studio!

*As a beginning weaver*, you will have a variety of options to begin your practice as Beginners Weaving 1 is designed to familiarize you with the loom, setup, the tools, practices, reading a draft, weaving vocabulary, techniques, to nurture and create a foundation to support your independence in the setup process of the looms and basic weaving techniques. Learning the process takes time and repetition and is at the core as to why the first few sessions are 16 sessions each. I invite you to consider the commitment to the process and to allow it to be a practice that makes space for learning as well as growth in yourself as a weaver, a creative and an ever evolving being.

Once you have learned the basics your experience can be as structured or freeform as you desire. You may choose to learn lots of different techniques by doing samplers and learning about various patterns and possibilities, pulling ideas + drafts from books, or you may bring your own ideas and inspiration in and you will have guidance to help bring them into form. Making art, functional pieces such as for home or clothing, and ritual pieces, are just a few of the endless possibilities.

*As a seasoned weaver*, this space is a great opportunity to have studio space outside of the home, to connect with and find support in a creative community, and to have access to a variety of weaving tools and looms. If you do not feel or are unsure if you need to take Beginners 1 please get in touch with me and we’ll discuss!

We primarily work on Glimakra Swedish floor looms of multiple sizes however we also have upright tapestry looms, table looms, a band loom, inkle loom, frame looms, and more!
